PLC 2 (PLC -HMI) Programming Advanced Course

Course Description

This course covers the knowledge, skills and attitude required of a PLC-HMI programmer in an Industrial/ Manufacturing workplace.

Emphasis is given to the actual hook-up of PLC-HMI with common Field I/O electrical and electromechanical devices such as lamps, relays, contactors, solenoid valves, timers, counters, directional valves and cylinders. Hands-on activities with real life PLC-HMI’s, Configure hardware components, programming basic logic problems, system diagnostics and interpret faults. Hands-on exercises on testing and simulation of various practical applications.

DURATION:

• Day class: Two (2) weeks face-to-face training with hands-on

At the end of the Training

the trainees are expected to;

  1. Terminate and Install PLC-HMI systems with any Field I/O devices
  2. Develop and test PLC-HMI program using appropriate software application(s)
  3. Develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) Graphics in touchscreen panel/ PC system using
    appropriate software/platform
  4. Conduct cold loop checking of installed Field I/O devices
  5. Perform configuration and programming of PLC-HMI system based on logic requirements
  6. Troubleshoot, loop check, test/commission PLC-HMI based system

Trainee’s Pre-Requisites

  1. Mechatronics Servicing/Instrumentation & Control Servicing Graduate or;
  2. Technician in the following fields or;
         • Electrical
         • Equipment Maintenance
         • Automation
         • Instrumentation
         • Facilities
  3. PLC Programming Basic Course: PLC 1

Qualification:

1. Basic understanding of electrical circuits and industrial automation concepts.
2. Familiarity with programming languages or logic diagrams.
3. Prior experience in industrial automation or related fields.
4. Familiarity with industrial equipment.
